Michael B. KarasMichael B. Karas, a nationally recognized marine and landscape painter, has been painting professionally for over 46 years. Early in his career he found inspiration in the sea, shore and landscape of his native New England. In 1989, Mr. Karas had his first introduction to the South Carolina Low Country and after several years of visits, moved permanently in 2004. Michael B. Karas has had 33 one-man shows in selected galleries throughout North America. He has exhibited in 22 museums across the United States including Mystic Seaport Museum; Mystic, Connecticut, Delaware Art Museum; Wilmington, Delaware, Maine Maritime Museum; Bath, Maine, Newport Art Museum; Newport, Rhode Island, Vero Beach Museum of Art; Vero Beach, Florida, Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum; St. Michaels, Maryland, Noyes Museum of Art; Atlantic City, New Jersey, Spartanburg Art Museum; Spartanburg, South Carolina, Cornell Museum of Art and American Culture; Delray Beach, Florida, Art Museum of the Southwest; Midland Texas, Haggin Museum; Stockton, California, Coos Art Museum; Coos Bay, Oregon, Quinlan Visual Arts Center; Gainesville, GA, Jamestown Settlement Museum; Williamsburg, VA.

Michael B. Karas has been an elected Fellow of the American Society of Marine Artists since 2001. He has received several awards for excellence in painting. Mr. Karas and his work have been featured in books, magazines, DVDs and videos.
